Why Canada is one of the best study abroad decisions an Indian student can make

Canada consistently ranks as one of the most welcoming countries for international students. With world class universities, affordable tuition compared to the UK and USA, and one of the most straightforward pathways to permanent residency, it is no surprise that over 220,000 Indian students study in Canada every year.

The Post Graduate Work Permit allows graduates to work in Canada for up to 3 years after completing their degree, and Express Entry gives you a clear route to PR. For Indian students serious about building a long term future abroad, Canada is hard to beat.

Ask Us Anything
Is a study permit the same as a Canadian student visa?+
Yes, the study permit is effectively your student visa. Indian citizens also need a separate Temporary Resident Visa, which is often issued together with the study permit.
Can I work while studying in Canada?+
Yes. You can work up to 20 hours per week off campus during term time and full time during scheduled academic breaks without any additional permit.
How long is the Post Graduate Work Permit valid for?+
The PGWP is valid for the same length as your programme, up to a maximum of 3 years. A 2 year masters gives you a 2 year PGWP.
Can I bring my family to Canada on a study permit?+
Your spouse may be eligible for an open work permit and your children can attend Canadian schools while you study. Eligibility depends on your institution level and programme.
Is Canada expensive for Indian students?+
Compared to the UK and USA, Canada is more affordable. Tuition averages CAD 20,000 to 30,000 per year and living costs depend heavily on city. Toronto and Vancouver are the most expensive.
How difficult is Express Entry PR after graduation?+
If you complete a programme of at least 2 years, get the PGWP, and work in Canada for at least 1 year in a skilled role, the Canadian Experience Class is a highly accessible PR pathway.
